8. Learn How to Study Smarter

Studying for hours isn’t always the answer. In fact, spending more time revising doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll learn more. How you study is often far more important than how long you study. And everyone has different ways of learning.
Review your notes regularly, test yourself instead of simply rereading, break revision into shorter sessions, take regular breaks and PLEASE ask questions whenever you’re confused.
Building these habits throughout the school year helps information stay in your memory for much longer and makes revision feel far less overwhelming when exams finally arrive.
Learning consistently throughout the year is much less stressful than trying to memorise everything the night before an exam (I know from personal experience..) A little progress every week is far more effective than one huge burst of last minute revision!

10. Romanticise It!!

One of the easiest ways to feel more motivated is to make school feel like something you actually look forward to.
Start by finding inspiration. Create an academic inspired pinterest board full of cosy study spaces, dream desks, stationery, autumn outfits, and academic aesthetics. Watch films and tv shows that make you excited for school, whether it’s the cosy classrooms of Gilmore Girls, the iconic halls of Gossip Girl, or the determined students in Gilmore Girls and Legally Blonde. Seeing characters work towards their goals can be surprisingly motivating.
When you’re studying at home, turn it into a ritual rather than a chore. Make yourself a hot chocolate or an iced coffee, light a candle if you’re studying safely at home, put on a calm playlist, tidy your desk, and settle in for an hour of focused work. If you need a change of scenery, try studying in a local café or library every now and then. A different environment can make studying feel less repetitive and give you something to look forward to.
