To anyone who has only just found this site, and to those that have been here since the beginning, I wanted to properly introduce myself to you all. It feels a little funny how you all know my opinions on what I think TV show characters would wear, songs I think they’d listen to, and products they’d keep on their vanity tables, yet barely know the girl behind the screen writing these posts.

So, hi!! I’m Lilah. (Lilah Ellis that is, if you want to be extra formal)

I’m the kind of person that loves to find the beauty in even the most unlikely of places. Whether that be in the ordinary things like rain tapping against windows, the smell of cinnamon candles in a room late at night, finding the perfect bookshop or creating the perfect pinterest board. I love to romanticise life, and my goal with this website was to help you all do the same.

I’ve also always been the kind of person my friends and family turn to for advice. And by that I mean both wardrobe AND life advice. To be quite honest though, there’s nothing I love more than playing that role. To me, there’s nothing more fulfilling then helping someone find the ultimate dress for a party, guiding someone on making big decisions when it comes to relationships, or helping them figure out what makeup style best suits their face shape.

If I had to describe SugarcoatedDiary in one sentence, I’d call it an online guide to romanticising every aspect of your life. From browsing your favourite characters’ wardrobes, finding a recipe to recreate or following a cozy routine, this is a space dedicated to finding beauty in the ordinary. My hope is that every post leaves you feeling inspired to make your own life feel a little more magical!

More than anything, I want this to feel like a little community. Somewhere you can come for advice, nostalgia, recipes, fashion, or even just a girly escape from everyday life. I hope you know every comment, message, and blog suggestion reminds me that there are so many girls out there who love the same little things I do, and that reminder fills me with so much joy.
